Turkey is on the way to block online gambling dens
Turkish state ministries have bonded with Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency, universities, Internet service providers and other nongovernmental organizations in order to tackle illegal gambling dens and betting sites on the Internet, which are mushrooming day by day.

One of the more commonly applied lethal means to fight illegal gambling activities is to induce legal sanctions. Following this rationale, the draft of the bill would have to have few revisions. Additional clauses would be added to it, which will alter the interface of the Turkish National Lottery Administration (MIP).

One of the primary responsibilities of the MIP would be to create a body to oversee “virtual” gambling and lottery draws. Those who would breach the new statutes will have to face severe penalties that could either come as fines or imprisonment. The MIP will also have to invest its energy in denying the access to any illegal gambling sites over the Internet. Accordingly, those who would be caught in advertising such websites from other sites will also be considered illegally engaged.

In order to track down people dealing with online gambling more efficiently, the related committees suggested that a thread to those individuals could be easily established via their credit card transactions. According to statistics, Turkey was found to spend at least $2 million on online gambling activities.
