An upheaval was recently instigated by the Indian tribe, compiling 50 people that asked for gambling space extending over 250,000 square feet near the Oakland Airport that could have well contained four football fields. The reactions were far from favorable. Opposing voices were stemming from different rationales. While there were those who emphasized the out- of- my- sight concerns, there were others who contested different aspects of this proposal such as a surge in Las Vegas-style gambling facilities that are cascading from the from the East Bay shoes. The project supporters are boasting that they are in the midst of establishing not just a casino but a distinguished gambling resort.
The size of the proposed casino implies on major revisions in the area, which deploy far beyond the obvious ones, the traffic congestion, visual blemish, changes in government service, addiction etc. Providing that casino performs as well as Nevada gambling operation, it will generate annually about $252 million. Hence, Oakland's overall proceeds will come down to 3 percent.
However, the question which seems to be crying for answer is whether the majority of people in fact do wish for corridor from Richmond to Fremont to become a new Las Begas Strip. It seems though that even with the fusion of forces from Alameda and San Keandro City Council the proposed casino cannot be halted.
