Dozens of South Florida applicants for gambling-industry positions have filled out their application in spite of the fact that Gambling slots at parimutual facilities have yet been approved by the voters. If slots gambling would be approved on the March 8, there would be a brimming number of employees at pari-mutuels.
The President of the Flagler Dog Track said the demand stands on 9,000 of employees which are somewhat problematic to be tracked down, since it is virtually impossible to create a profile of a person with an appropriate background for this job. Therefore, the recruitment at a Miami job center has already begun, leaving enough time for the applicants to make their further plans. On the average the annual salaries are expected to be somewhere around $39,000. But this number, of course, allows for some variations, up and down.
Currently, the dog track inhabits 300 employees but in the case gambling slots proposition is approved, the operators predict this number to reach 3,000.
