Bensalem Mayor Joseph DiGirolamo, the creator of the advisory board held its third public gathering, where a Philadelphia man, an activist Bill Kearney pressed for alternations in state gambling legislation.
In the past, Kearney a self-professed card-counter and gambling addict has filed a request to the board to back up his petition to Harrisburg that would oblige casino owners to send a written monthly report featuring player's gambling losses which should also be forwarded to the gambler's spouse. He later on however, confessed that those monthly records would not have prevented him from continuous gambling till the family's savings went off.
Rep. Paul Clymer has already expressed his support of the Kearney's idea planning to propose it as a bill later on this year. The advisory board was however less enthusiastic about the project and did not give away any signs of support.
The board argued that it is not the responsibility of anybody to supervise the deeds of a grown up individual, let alone telling his wife about it. The next meeting of the advisory board is scheduled for April.
