China, a country where gambling is prohibited by the law has had some serious problems in the recent years as hundreds of casinos have mushroomed along the China's borders with DPRK, Russia, Laos, Burma and Vietnam. Billions of dollars were wasted on foreign casinos and many more have gone astray in the domestic underground gambling activities. Even more regrettably, governmental officials in the majority of cases turn out to be big-time gamblers.
The most wanted man in China, Cai Haowen was finally seized after seven weeks of pursuit. He was convicted in pillaging the public money estimated in 400,000 US dollars, spent at a casino in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.
Currently, Chinese government is striving to inhibit gambling proliferation by raiding on thousands of gambling dens. Within two month, the police have tracked down about 30,000 gambling cases, where more than 80,000 people were arrested. Consequently, China's bordering gambling facilities have been shut down and the government officials say this collision is just the beginning.
