The online bookies have been on top of several hot celebrity "issues," but surprisingly they continue to drop the ball on a number of high profile press events. This time it is the rumored split up of Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey.
In fairness, some of the least expected of the online bookies have taken the bull by the horn -- so to speak -- catapulting into the public eye by offering betting odds on hot celebrity and political topics. www.betCRIS.com as an example took Gambling911.com up on its dare to post "President Bush Falling Off The Wagon" odds after the National Enquirer featured a story where the First Lady is quoted as giving GW an ultimatum: "It's Jim Beam or Me!"
Likewise, www.Betmaker.com found itself mentioned all over the mainstream press with its odds on Kate Moss being arrested. www.nine.com followed up by offering Ms. Moss an exclusive endorsement deal. She turned it down as if she was actually above such an offering. Moss could probably use the cash after reportedly losing a handful of major modeling gigs.
