New Zealand – Dunedin Casino, a boutique casino property located in the South Island of New Zealand, has installed three new Italian manufactured gaming tables in their VIP area to further capitalize on the success of its premium player room.
“We are extremely pleased with the popularity of our new Roulette, Blackjack and Baccarat tables, since we installed them in our VIP gaming area a few months ago,” said Rod Woolley, Casino Manager.
“The casino team and I worked very closely with IndoPacific Gaming ( IPG ), to find the most successful solution for our customers. We offer an elegant yet relaxed atmosphere for our highly valued patrons. IPG offers an extensive range of casino solutions, and we are delighted with our choice of Abbiati gaming tables.”
The brief to Simon Best at IPG, was to source gaming tables that looked different from the standard ones, as seen in other casinos in Australia and New Zealand. After a review of the various options, Abbiati became a clear winner.
“Dunedin’s new tables in its VIP room will certainly continue its success, with the new Abbiati table games we have installed,” said Simon Best, VP Casino Operations at IPG.
“As sole distributor for Australia and New Zealand, we are delighted that casinos here appreciate the Italian craftsmanship and value of Abbiati, who has been supplying equipment to the international casino sector for more than 30 years.” These are the first Abbiati tables to be produced for the Australasian market.
“We believe that the quality of the range of Abbiati products, which incorporates Dupont Corian for hard surfaces, first class Italian leather, and ergonomic design, will no doubt be increasingly popular for both dealers and players. Value is in terms of quality, and Abbiati offers a superior product.”
To suit the relaxed yet regal theme of the VIP room, the Dunedin Casino opted for solid mahogany wood surrounds, burgundy Microfine layouts, and brass recessed drink holders.
Mr Best from IPG explained “Changes were also made to the layouts, to customise them to New Zealand gaming requirements. But at each step, Abbiati provided full colour artwork to reflect these modifications, in order to receive a quick approval and delivery for the final product.”
There are six casinos in New Zealand, Total gambling spend for the fiscal year ended June 2004 was NZ$2.039 billion, with casinos $484 million, a 6% increase over the previous year.
Dunedin Casino is owned and operated by Dunedin Casino’s Limited, a privately owned New Zealand company.
