Turning River, a company dedicated to producing software for poker players, recently released their latest offering based on the newest form of poker to hit the tournament circuit. Following the success of the National Heads Up Poker Championship, Turning River (http://www.turningriver.com) has released their latest poker calculator designed to give players an edge in this brand new style of competition.
"Heads Up poker is significantly different from other forms of poker. Hands you wouldn't like to have at a table full of players can be make you smile when you have them in a heads up match," says the man behind Turning River, known in the poker world as Mongoose.
Finding out which hands make this change from bad to good is the reason players are downloading this new software. Free of charge, this program shows the winning percentages of any cards given cards against the random hand your opponent may have, or a hand chosen for them.
Players have been taking advantage of the learning software the company has been producing since January. With programs aimed at helping players learn the nuances of Texas Holdem, Omaha, and 7 Card Stud, Heads Up poker was insightful next step. Every poker tournament eventually winds down to two players competing head to head, but the birth of Heads Up poker tournaments where players play only one opponent at a time, brings a new need for players to have skills in this particular poker situation.
