Anthony Aillotta, 37, was charged in four gambling and loan-sharking crimes facing the Springfield District Court. More charges related to illegal gambling operations, in which he allegedly raked over $500,000 per month rained down upon him. Aillotta, believed to have had strong ties with the mob, pleaded not guilty to all the federal gambling charges. His associates, arrested for the same charges, pleaded innocent as well.
Arillotta served as a leading lieutenant hired to assassinate the mob boss Adolfo, for the New York crime family, who was running gambling operations in cooperation with several offices and a toll-free betting lines in Costa Rica.
Since Arillotta’s arrest on illegal gambling, he has been freed on bail, but the judge ordered to decline the bail. Vincent Bongiomi, Arillotta’s lawyer suggested the release of his client for $35,000 bail.
