Ontario has come up with an original idea to plant special kiosks in casino parlour, designed for players with serious gambling issues, who need to chill out for a moment in privacy to. These gamblers usually have hard time withstanding appealing advertisements pointing to the emptiness of life without gambling indulgences, or detach from suicidal thoughts, while gambling away their family’s savings. Though the government, seemingly, alleviates the pains of those few miserable ones, they more so alleviate their own blemished conscious. Any means to hold onto the billions in gambling revenues.
The government should create a solid plan of how to pull itself out from this vicious circle of gambling. Instead, it taps into deploying the already existing casinos. Another 3,000 slot machines are expected to arrive to the Niagara Fallsview Casino. In order to fund social services such as hospitals, schools and community groups, the government better use taxes paid by all Ontarians and abstain from taking the pool hoarded by the gambling ills.
Ontario seems to be prostrated in the state of perpetual denial about the gambling it encourages. The government officials make sure to put a makeover on the unappetizing gambling consequences by bragging about the jobs it created, the benefits it brought to the hospitals and schools. But somehow, leaves out the phrases such as tax on illness or tax on losers.
